WebQuest Itinerary
Day 1:
From Tokyo to Hiroshima
D: Hikari 501, 6:26 AM to Shin-Osaka
Eat breakfast/lunch at Station (1500 yen)
Transfer: Hikari 555, 10:22 AM to Hiroshima
A: Hiroshima 11:55 AM
On shinkansen, fold as many origami cranes as possible for monument:
Take bus to Hiroshima Peace Monument and Museum
Walk around the monument. See the Children’s Monument, place cranes on monument (Children’s monument dedicated to the children who died from the atomic bomb).

Go see the Dome, a ruin from the bomb that is still standing. The A-Bomb Dome used to be the Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, and now is a monument to the destruction by the atomic bomb and the power of survival.

Go to the Museum (50 yen entrance fee). Pick up souvenirs (8,000 yen).
Walk to downtown and eat okonomiyaki (Hiroshima style) for dinner (1,500 yen). Okonomiyaki is a pancake-like meal that has batter at the bottom. Hiroshima style is when the other ingredients, such as shrimp and vegetables, are layered on top.

Walk around and find a shop with dessert (500 yen)
Stay in Oriental Hotel Hiroshima, walking distance (2-nights 19,400 yen)
Day 2:
Go to Miyajima
Eat breakfast in hotel (moningu 500 yen)
Take ferry to Miyajima (free with JRP)
Go to Itsukima Shine and Museum (500 yen entrance fee)
Pray and purchase お守り (500 yen). Purchase souvenirs (2,000 yen)
Go see torii and other pieces of art. Torii ranked as one of Japan’s top 3 views.

Eat lunch and snacks (1,200 yen) and eat along walking paths. Walking paths have friendly deer around them, so it should be a nice walk.

Take ferry back to Hiroshima Peace Memorial (1900 yen)
Spend evening in downtown Hiroshima. Go shopping and eat (15,000 yen).
Day 3:
Last time in Hiroshima and evening in Tokyo
Eat breakfast in hotel (500)
Take bus to Shukkeien Garden (250 yen entrance fee)
Shukkeien is a Japanese garden that was part of the Hiroshima Castle. Also has a tea house around main pond. Have great tea and snacks (1000 yen). Breathe in and relax before journey. Take time to write postcards.
Walk to Shinkansen Station (15 minute walk).
D: Hikari 562, 1:48 PM to Shin-Osaka
Transfer Hikari 478, 3:40 PM
A: Tokyo 5:40 PM
Spend evening in Shinjuku district before departure. (5000 yen)
Shinjuku is the business district with tall skyscrapers.
